The 'Lacock at War: Codename Bolero' show was first held in the historic village of Lacock in August 2012, and has quickly grown to be one of the most popular military vehicle and re-enactment shows in West Wiltshire area. The organisers actively encourage the re-enactment groups to patrol around the village, therefore you may see British, American or German troops carrying out patrols. The title of the show came about because 'Bolero' was the codename of the build up of American troops prior to 'D-Day'. This is particularly relevant to Lacock as General Patton's 3rd Army Headquarters were at Lackham House, less than a mile away from Lacock.
